I was thinking more classical such as ride of the valkyries or gayane The floor is made up of 3' x 3' masonite like material over plywood over cement. Sabre dance would be nice.

Looking to make a 4 by 8 foot screen like the one here They've complained that in the past the tappers get drowned out by the band What material is best for this
I just plan on backlighting it and need that silhouette apperance.
What brand/product line of paint are you using Behr interior satin often black Sometimes dark grey for dance recitals if they aren't bringing in a dance floor We repaint as needed for a production so faux wood, faux stone, using rosco products
Satin looks blacker than flat under most lighting conditions due to the way the reflections bounce. I am at a venue that uses multiple dance floors I have been maintaining these floors trying to fix years of neglect or ignorance and have gotten these floors to what i feel is the best condition a nonprofessional. The led lets us essily and seamlessly transition an area of the stage from one color to the other, but what did we do to accomplish this before the advent of leds (and things like the variable cto gels used in vipers and the like)
I’m asking because i’m wondering whether if i place some gelled.
I’m using two monitors stage left and right for a dance recital I was curious if there are any rules of thumb about how far apart they should be placed and if they should be placed on there angled kickback side or placed flat The dance performances range from solo. There are a few decisions still to make, and i wonder if any of you might have some thoughts
We are looking to turn our dance studio into a performance space for our spring arts festival The facilities manager does not currently have a seating capacity for the room and while he works on obtaining that from the fire marshal, i figured id ask if anyone knows what goes into determining. We are doing fiddler, and i am wondering if there are those of you who did it with the bottle dance and what you did, as far as preventing a bunch of broken glass on stage, in the (likely) event one (or more) falls A teacher here who toured with young americans said they taped the lower half of.
A school i'm helping out does 2 or 3 events each year that include tap dance routines, usually with the jazz/blues band or orchestra
