Like the title says, i’m curious if anyone’s kept a lunar wrasse is a reef tank It moves very little and buries itself in the sand lots It’s listed as not being reef safe basically everywhere, but so are plenty of other fish that people still put in reef tanks.

This beauty is 7+ inches long At first i thought it was stuck, but it was fine This is a wysiwyg listing for the beautiful adult moon wrasse in the photos.
What are people thoughts on adding a moon wrasse to a 120 fowlr
I already have a valentini puffer and a snowflake eel He'll go in 3rd followed by a fuzzy dwarf lionfish, a foxface and a kole tang I don't know much about wrasses, so any suggestions would be much appreciated Thalassoma do need sand, so keeping a lunar wrasse (thalassoma lunare) without sand would not be advisable
Thalassoma also tend to get pretty aggressive as they mature an do not mix well with other wrasses If thalassomas are removed from the equation, then cirrhilabrus and paracheilinus are good choices for bare bottom tanks. I had one with a porcupine puffer once The lunar wrasse bite the puffers face apart one day and and kept biting the soft tags/spikes on the puffer
The bite got infected and it died
The puffer was bigger than yours and the wrasse was only like 4 inches Those thalassoma wrasses can get nasty You need to be careful with them. Will also eat other crustaceans and some.
Just added my first fish, a fairly large lunar wrasse ( into my 75g ) which has been up and running for about 4 months I'm looking for suggestions on what would be safe to add down the road fish wise This wrasse is a beast, she eats like a horse and aggressively at that I had moved a small.
I have a moon wrasse that i love, but would like to get a decent sized maxima clam
I have heard they eat cleaner clams and other invertebrates Yellow moon wrasse?joined nov 21, 2008 messages 69,731 reaction score 67,605 location orlando, florida I've recently gotten a juvenile moon wrasse in my 30 gal and it's been doing fine, up until around two days ago It found itself a small crevice and has wedged itself in there
