Weather.com already is blocked in several regions and this source may help those who skins aren't working, get them working again with a few simple code changes The template files make it fairly easy to convert practically any skin to use the weather.com api, even skins that used other data sources like yahoo, darksky, etc.
Many skins are using weather.com and they rely on the api key which sometimes gets changed
Many modern weather skins will have a weathercomjsonvariables.inc file or a separate skin with settings where you can change the api key. It appears that sometime over the last several days, weather.com has made a change to their weather codes Most instructions for weather skins (including on the forums) suggest going to the main weather.com site, searching for a location, and grabbing a section of the resulting url from the browser's address bar to use for the location code.
